About The Owner
I have been working in the field of construction or teaching the subject for 25 years. Here is a list of my construction work experience:
2023-Present - Owning and operating “Cornerstone Contracting LLC”. Trust my company provides excellent communication and quality workmanship. We specialize in home building, siding & remodeling, home additions, decks, and garages.
2016-2023 - Grantsburg High School instructor teaching Building Construction, Manufacturing and Engineering. I enjoyed working with students and teaching the skills to build and properly use many types of construction and woodworking equipment.
2014-2016 - owned and operated a construction business, “Steck Construction LLC” doing carpentry work during the summers. At this time I was also employed as a HS Engineering teacher in Cudahy, WI near Milwaukee.
2011-2013 - Worked as a high school instructor teaching Architectural Drafting and the Summer Construction Academy in Kodiak, Alaska.
2010-2011 - Worked in Wasilla, Alaska for a general contractor - Stapley Construction building several homes and townhouses. We built everything from concrete to roofing including doors/windows, siding, fascia and decking.
2007-2010 - Worked at a high school in Togiak, Alaska teaching Building Construction, Woodworking and Drafting.
2005-2007 - Received my second degree in Secondary Technology Education. During this time I worked as a lab assistant at St. Cloud State University in the Building Construction and Woodworking Lab.
2000-2005 - Received my first degree in Construction Management at SCSU. Summers I worked for a construction company building townhomes in the Twin Cities.
